©Warner Bros/Courtesy Everett Collection Clayface might have been a considerably nicher choice for a feature film than DC’s “Supergirl” and “Superman,” but that didn’t stop audiences from showing out to catch the Batman supervillain’s gory, nightmare-inducing origin story at the box office this weekend.
The new release generated $10.4 million from 3,458 North American theaters on Friday, taking the No. 1 spot. It’s a strong start for the film, which looks to pull in $24 million by Sunday.
