Camila Morrone may be leading Netflix’s new series, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, but she admits to having some fear of being at the top of the call sheet after working on Daisy Jones & the Six.

In an interview with People magazine, Morrone reflected on working on the Prime Video series at the time which she starred in alongside Keough and Sam Claflin.

“I saw Riley Keough and Sam Claflin go through hell on Daisy Jones & the Six,” Morrone said. She recalled “looking at Riley” as the series lead, and how she didn’t “know if she’s going to make it.” “She was withered. She was down,” Morrone said of her former co-star. She described Keough as a “real gangster” for pushing through it all.

The 10-episode Prime Video series chronicles the renowned fictional band Daisy Jones & The Six as they find their way to success and instant fame in the 1970s. Keough and Claflin both sing the songs in the show and learned how to play the guitar. The cast also attended daily in-person band camp to better gel as a group. Over the course of the series’ seven-month shoot, some songs were performed over 100 times, the show’s team told The Hollywood Reporter.

“They had to sing, and they had to play instruments, and they had to do it millions of times,” Morrone said of her former co-stars. “And she [Keough] had to play a character going through it. I remember looking at her and being like, ‘Wow, I’m jealous of your job, but also really scared of that.'”

Despite the hard work that went into it, Morrone said she and the cast “all loved that show.”

“We were so grateful that we did it and it’s changed all of our lives,” she added.

In Prime’s adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s 2019 bestseller of the same name, Morrone starred as Camila, wife to Claflin’s Billy. “I felt this about the book as well, but Camila is the hero of the story. She is the heart and the soul of the entire journey,” showrunner Scott Neustadter told THR of Morrone’s character.

Morrone now stars in Netflix’s Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen alongside Adam DiMarco, who said his co-star “really nailed it” when it came to being the series lead.

“It’s such a marathon and it’s such an undertaking,” he said of Morrone. ”You’re so fun to watch. You’re so great in the show.”
