Catherine Zeta-Jones in 'Kill Jackie.' Unai Mateo/Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures It’s her real accent and it’s lush!
Catherine Zeta-Jones goes back to her roots in the first trailer for AMC+‘s Kill Jackie, with the Welsh Oscar-winner utilizing her real accent Swansea accent in the thriller series, an adaptation of Aidan Truhen’s novel The Price You Pay.
In the show, Zeta-Jones plays Jackie Price, a glamorous, supposed art dealer, who is trying to escape her past as an international drug smuggler. In the series, Jackie runs out of luck and she finds out that The Seven Demons, a squad of assassins, has been hired to kill her. Per the logline, “Assuming someone from her past is behind it, Jackie unleashes her old instincts and embarks on a wild, dangerous game plan: to take down The Demons one by one before they kill her. However, she soon realises her own demons are much more terrifying than the ruthless killers on her trail…and her buried secrets lead her closer to home, with surprising consequences.”

Kill Jackie is the first time Zeta-Jones has used her Welsh accent on screen. The actress, who hails from the Mumbles area of Swansea, has retained close links with her home city, and some of Kill Jackie was shot there, as well as Bilbao, Lisbon and London.

The lead director on the series is Damon Thomas with writer and showrunner Butterworth. Keane co-wrote the TV adaptation and is associate producer. It is co-produced by Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures.
Kill Jackie marks a notable return to a U.K. TV production for Zeta-Jones, an Oscar, Tony and BAFTA-winner, who made her breakthrough with the British television series The Darling Buds of May in the early 90s before moving to Hollywood. Zeta-Jones currently stars in Netflix’s immensely popular Wednesday, and was also part of the main cast of Disney+’s National Treasure: Edge of History, which was canceled after one season.
Debuting on Oct. 2, Kill Jackie will stream in the U.S. on AMC+, and on Amazon Prime Video in the U.K., Ireland, Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and Canada.
