Columbia Pictures’ science-fiction epic “Project Hail Mary” secured second place in its opening weekend, taking in $6.9 million.
Racing-comedy “Pegasus 3” shifted to third place after a long run at the top, adding $5.7 million for a cumulative total of $606.6 million. Produced by PMF Pictures and directed by Han Han, the third installment in the high-octane franchise features Shen Teng as veteran racer Zhang Chi. The story follows Chi as he leads an underdog national team through the grueling Muchen 100 Rally.
