China has expanded its duty-free treatment to imports from 53 African countries, while the U.S. has only extended the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) for one year, leaving African countries in doubt about the future of their trade relationship with the US.
China is offering Africa certainty. America is offering a deadline.
