CIA” has been renewed for Season 2 at CBS.

The police procedural from “Law & Order” legend Dick Wolf premiered on Feb. 23 and scored 8.4 million multiplatform viewers (across broadcast and streaming) in its first week, according to Nielsen.

A spinoff of CBS’ “FBI” series, “CIA” follows by-the-book FBI Special Agent Bill Goodman, played by Nick Gehlfuss, who is loaned out to a secretive CIA/FBI task force and must team up with the roguish CIA Agent Colin Glass (Tom Ellis). “Together they will work covert operations in New York, uncovering international plots, terrorist cells and geopolitical secrets,” per the logline. “On CIA, Bill will learn the rules of this murky world on the fly as Colin leads him deeper into spy games where only one thing is clear — their work keeps America safe, even if no one will ever know what they did in the shadows.”
