Miku Martineau as Teagan in ‘Crew Girl.’ Netflix Logo text Netflix is getting back into the water for a second season of Crew Girl.
The streamer has given a fairly quick renewal to Crew Girl, ordering a second season less than two weeks after the YA series’ Sept. 10 premiere. The show centers on Teagan Tao (Miku Martineau), a promising rower who discovers her new prep school doesn’t have a girls’ team. She becomes the coxswain for the “notoriously dysfunctional” boys’ crew, with various complications, romantic and otherwise, following.
“I am beyond excited for Crew Girl season two,” Martineau said in a statement. “There’s so much left to explore with the characters, the romances, and the rowing team, it’s going to be a ride for sure! All I know is that it will definitely be a packed, juicy, drama filled second season so I’m ready to get back in a boat and on camera.”

Crew Girl premiered at No. 5 among Netflix English-language series for Sept. 7-13 and rose to No. 2 for the week of Sept. 14-20, collecting 11.3 million views worldwide. That translates to 70.1 million hours of viewing, based on Netflix’s internal data. Nielsen’s U.S. streaming ratings for the premiere week are due Thursday.
Along with Martineau, Crew Girl stars Jessica Paré, Sam Braun, Kyle Clark and Thomas Cadrot. Blue Ant Studios produces the series, which was developed by Vivian Lin and Morwyn Brebner. Lin executive produces with Jeff Norton, Lindsay Macadam, Hillary Zwick Turner, Tony Chung, Lori Massini and Matthew Hornburg, Mark J.W. Bishop, and Jennifer McCarron for Blue Ant Studios.
