Bridgit Mendler has quietly made her grand return to music.

The former Disney star, who left Hollywood nearly a decade ago to focus on her academics and pursue a career in the tech space, dropped a surprise EP on Friday. Titled Once Again..., it features six new tracks, including “Flowers,” “Cold,” “Mercy,” “Long Run,” “Loyalties” and “Oxygen.”

She doesn’t appear to be promoting the EP on her social media, as her last Instagram post was in 2022.

The last time Mendler released an album was in 2012 with Hello My Name Is…, which included the fan-favorite songs “Ready or Not” and “Hurricane.” She also dropped a few singles after, including her most recent, “Driving,” in 2017.

Mendler initially rose to fame for her roles on the Disney Channel series Good Luck Charlie and Wizards of Waverly Place. She also starred alongside Naomi Scott, Hayley Kiyoko and Adam Hicks in the 2011 Disney movie Lemonade Mouth.

After Good Luck Charlie wrapped in 2014, she appeared in a few other projects throughout the years, including the shows Undateable and Merry Happy Whatever, as well as the TV movie Thin Ice. But she eventually stepped away from the entertainment industry to focus on her academics.

Mendler holds multiple professional degrees, including her undergraduate from the University of Southern California, her Master’s from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. She started working on her PhD at MIT in 2020, but put that on hold.

She later co-founded Northwood Space in 2023 with her husband, Griffin Cleverly, and engineer Shaurya Luthra, and currently serves as CEO. The company is a California-based aerospace startup that builds infrastructure for satellite communication.
