Cinema Guild has acquired North American distribution rights to Hong Sangsoo‘s “Nowhere to Lay My Eyes.”

The film will have its world premiere at the 79th Locarno Film Festival in August.

“Nowhere to Lay My Eyes” follows Sanghee (Kim Minhee), who visits her mother on Jeju Island with her brother after 10 years apart. Her stepfather, a documentary filmmaker, is working on a project about a “grass tomb,” while her mother’s restaurant has turned into a lucrative business. Sanghee also meets her stepfather’s daughter, who has recently taken up painting. Sanghee, who has a day job importing snacks and shoots short films in her spare time, spends two days with the family as old secrets, unsolicited advice and hollow flattery come to the surface.
