Hulu’s Parker Posey-Hosted Competition ‘The Mob’ Drops First Look, Sets Premiere Date

Hulu has dropped the first look at its upcoming competition series The Mob.

The series, hosted by Emmy-winning actress Parker Posey, hails from the executive producers of Peacock’s The Traitors. The Mob will is set to premiere Oct. 26 and will have weekly episodes.

Much like The Traitors has been in the U.S. so far, the show will take a gaggle of television and media personalities and drop them into the competition. The Traitors intends to switch up that framework to reflect some of the other international formats with The Traitors: New Blood, which is set to feature regular Americans competing in the Scottish castle instead of celebrities or reality stars.

The Mob “is a high-stakes reality competition series that sends a group of celebrities to a lavish Italian villa where they will shake down, hustle and whack their way to win up to $250,000 in cash prizes,” according to the sow’s synopsis. “Every episode, they will tackle mob movie-inspired jobs to survive. But every mob family needs a don, and whoever they choose will have absolute power — deciding who makes money, who stays, and who ultimately gets whacked. In a game where power demands absolute loyalty, can the don stay in control, or will the family rise up and overthrow them?”

The inaugural cast includes RuPaul’s Drag Race‘s Willam Belli, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives‘ Demi Engemann, Bachelor alum Maria Georgas, The Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Joe Gorga, Let’s Marry Harry‘s Harry Jowsey, Selling Sunset‘s Chelsea Lazkani, Younger’s Debi Mazar, Love Overboard‘s Bella Palk, Bachelor alum Shane Parton, rapper Romeo, Dancing with the Stars‘ Bruno Tonioli and The Sopranos‘ Aida Turturro.

Studio Lambert and Primal Media, which is part of the STV Studios family of production labels, produce the series. Tim Harcourt, Jack Burgess, Niall O’Driscoll and Stephen Lambert executive produce for Studio Lambert; Adam Wood and Mat Steiner, who created the show’s format, executive produce for Primal Media alongside David Mortimer, the chief executive officer of STV Studios. Posey also serves as an executive producer. Susan House is showrunning the series.
