Fox News host Laura Ingraham invited Democratic strategist James Carville to become a part of the GOP on Monday.
“The socialists have momentum. It is only a matter of time. The Democrats are going to become a socialist party, and it’s going to happen unless the sensible Democrats do more than appear on podcasts, cable shows and they start just standing for sanity,” Ingraham said on “The Ingraham Angle” Monday evening, in comments highlighted by Mediaite.
“So instead of fighting with the type of people who watch ‘The Ingraham Angle,’ Carville and other Democrats who oppose socialism should join our effort to turn the GOP into a party that is rebuilding the American middle class. Turn to us. The question is, how many more are there like them in the Democrat Party who will join to defeat this scourge?” she added.
On Sunday, Carville went after left-wing streamer Hasan Piker, who has backed democratic socialist candidates, stating that if the streamer becomes a force within the Democratic Party, “I’m out of here.”’
“To talk about the larger Democratic Party, post the election in Michigan going forward, I am not going to be in the same party with Hasan Piker,” Carville said on Fox News’s “The Sunday Briefing,” referencing the Michigan Senate Democratic primary between Abdul El-Sayed and Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.).
“I have no intention of ever being in the same political party with that guy. Now, I think that a majority, overwhelming majority of Democrats agree with me, but this idea that we’re going to seize the means of production and this. Just go look at the DSA platform,” he continued, noting the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
Ingraham and Carville’s comments come amid the recent success of progressive and democratic socialist candidates in Democratic primaries from New York to Colorado. Democratic socialists in office have also been in the national headlines recently, with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) capturing attention as he runs the nation’s largest city and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) being discussed as a 2028 presidential contender.
