Pete Davidson and Jon Stewart are once again teaming up to help 9/11 charities Elsa/Getty Images Jon Stewart and Pete Davidson are marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11 with a superstar-studded charity show at Madison Square Garden, Sept’s 10’s NYC Still Rising After 25 Years: A 9/11 Charities Comedy Benefit. Headliners will include Stewart, Davidson, Dave Chappelle, Aziz Ansari, Bill Burr, Ronny Chieng, Nikki Glaser, Josh Johnson, and “many more” yet-to-be-announced performers.
The show revives the format Stewart and Davidson debuted five years ago, when NYC Still Rising After 20 Years: A Comedy Celebration hit MSG on Sept. 12, 2021, with performers including Chappelle, Burr, Chieng, Amy Schumer, John Mulaney, Jimmy Fallon, Wanda Sykes, Colin Jost, Michael Che, Colin Quinn, Dave Attell, Jay Pharoah, and Tom Segura. “We wanted to put on a fun celebration to honor this great city’s resilience,” Stewart and Davidson said in a joint statement at the time. “It’s nice to be able to do this with friends and people we love.”
Davidson was seven years old when his father, FDNY firefighter Scott Davidson, was killed responding to the World Trade Center attack. Stewart has long advocated for the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, which supports first responders and survivors diagnosed with 9/11-related illnesses.
