Detroit Lions' Jack Campbell remains in hospital after suffering a neck injury but early indications are positive for his recovery.
Campbell, 26, sustained the injury during the Lions' game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
He was taken from the pitch on a stretcher after he hit his head while tackling tight end TJ Hockenson in the fourth quarter.
He received medical assistance before being removed from the field, having been lying face down on the ground.
"Jack Campbell continues to rest and recover at a local hospital," a Lions statement said.
"Preliminary indications are positive and out of respect for Jack and his family we will not share any further information at this time."
The Lions won Sunday's game 19-15 when play resumed after Campbell's injury.
Campbell was drafted by the Lions with the number 18 overall pick in 2023 and signed a contract extension in May, through to the 2030 season.
