Vermont voters are heading to the polls.
The Green Mountain State has not voted for a Republican presidential candidate since 1988 and includes progressive Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-V.T.) in its delegation, but has also had a Republican, Phil Scott (R-V.T.), in its governor’s mansion for almost a decade now. Scott is seeking reelection for what would be a sixth two-year term and is running unopposed in the GOP primary.
With none of Vermont’s Democratic statewide officeholders, the Democratic primary contest to run against Scott is between economist Amanda Janoo and Aly Richards, the former head of Let’s Grow Kids, a lobbying group for expanding childcare in the state.
Polls close at 7 p.m. EDT.
