Megan Thee Stallion. courtesy of hot girl productions Megan Thee Stallion has entered a new partnership with Interscope Records, the rapper announced on Friday, as the label will provide global distribution and other support for her label Hot Girl Productions.
Interscope is one of the most prominent of the major record labels, but the release calls the partnership “a major milestone in the next phase of her independent career,” further noting that Megan will “retain complete ownership of her masters and publishing.”
“I’ve always wanted to create music on my terms while building a legacy that extends beyond the industry,” Megan said in a statement Friday. “This distribution partnership with Interscope allows me to stay true to my creative vision while also increasing my global reach. I’m excited for this next chapter of growth and the expansion of my Hot Girl Productions empire.”

Megan’s announcement comes days after she teased her next album era on Instagram this week. During an appearance on IMO With Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson this week, she said she was “still working on my title right now,” further calling the album “a reintroduction” to her alter-ego persona Tina Snow.
“Tina is grown now, babe. She’s been through lots of life since y’all heard from her last. I have so many collaborations the hotties have been asking me for. From niche collaborations… collaborations that are overdue, collaborations that have shocked the people.” The Interscope partnership follows Megan’s previous deal she announced with Warner Music Group back in 2024, where the major record company provided distribution and other label services while allowing her to go independent. Through that WMG deal, she’d released her most recent album Megan. She released her first two albums through 1501 Certified Entertainment and 300 entertainment, the latter of which is a subsidiary of WMG.
The Megan Thee Stallion Partnership is just the latest notable deal for Interscope, which has also signed Troye Sivan as the singer readies his just-announced upcoming fourth album She’s the Best. As THR first reported, Interscope also signed Ed Sheeran after the pop star left his longtime home at WMG earlier this year.

We’re honored to welcome Megan to the Interscope family and excited to partner with Roc Nation as we support her next chapter.” Megan Thee Stallion first came to mainstream prominence with her viral hit “Hot Girl Summer” back in 2019, following that with multi-platinum hit “Savage,” which went on to get a remix with Beyoncé and won Grammys for best rap song and best rap performance. 2024’s Megan debuted at Number 3 on the Billboard chart and featured the viral hit “Mamushi,” which went gold.
“Megan has always approached her career with a focus on ownership, creative freedom and long-term impact.” Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez said in a statement. “The ability to maintain her independence and own her masters is a testament to the vision that has guided her career from the beginning. We look forward to working together with Interscope’s team and tapping into their global resources to further elevate this new era of her career.” Outside of her music, earlier this year, Meg made her Broadway debut playing Zidler in Moulin Rouge! as well. It was a shorter tenure than originally planned, and she was hospitalized after falling ill mid-show in March. She later confirmed that doctors cited “extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels” as the cause of her symptoms. She called the incident “a real wake-up call,” further noting that “I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough.”
She returned to the production two days later but would later exit the production early, playing her last show on May 1 after previously being scheduled to play through May 17.
During her IMO appearance this week, Meg called Moulin Rouge! “such an amazing experience.”
“Meeting all of those people, I feel like I made so many really, really good friends. Two shows a day? Two times a week? And you get one day off, which is Monday? I’m like ‘y’all. are superheroes.’ I feel like I need to have this kind of work ethic. Those people are up there busting their butt every day.”
