Liane Hentscher/Prime “Off Campus,” the new romantic drama series about college hockey players, is the third most-watched debut series in the history of Amazon Prime Video.
Amazon says that the series reached 36 million viewers in its first 12 days of streaming. It’s important to note that the company does not publicly define what counts as a “viewer,” therefore it’s possible that a person who watched only a few seconds or minutes of a single episode is being counted in that total. However, “Off Campus” can still reliably be considered a success for Prime Video: Even with unclear metrics, per Amazon, the only debut series to ever outperform it have been “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” and “Fallout.” That means “Off Campus” is tracking above heavyweights like “The Boys,” “Reacher,” “The Summer I Turned Pretty” and more. (All series were compared based on the first 12 days of viewership for their first seasons.)
