Perez Hilton’s family is clearing up misinformation about his communication with the media and sharing a new update on his health following his disturbing livestream earlier this week. The celebrity gossip blogger remains hospitalized in Florida, where his condition is “serious but stable,” and he will require surgery in the coming days, according to his family.

In a new statement shared on Hilton’s website Saturday, his family confirmed that he remains hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act, writing, “His communication has been extremely limited and confined to immediate family, medical providers, and others directly involved in his care. He has not communicated with the media or issued any public statements.”

The family also clarified that the only credible updates about Hilton’s condition are those published directly on his website.

“Perez’s condition remains serious but stable. He experienced significant blood loss and sustained additional injuries that will require surgery in the coming days,” the statement said. “His treatment and recovery will be a long process. We are grateful that Perez was able to spend time with his mother and sister yesterday.”

Hilton’s family also asked for privacy as he continues his recovery.

The latest statement follows an update from Thursday, when Hilton’s family revealed that his children were inside his home just minutes before his disturbing livestream.

“The events of the past several days have been nearly unbearable for our family. Just minutes before the public livestream incident, Perez’s children, niece, and sister were inside the home,” the family wrote. “When it became clear that Perez was experiencing a severe mental health crisis and harming himself, they immediately fled to protect the children from witnessing any further trauma.”

More to come.
