FilmMagic Presley Gerber, the model son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, died Sunday at a rehab facility, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records. He was 27.
“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” a representative for the family told TMZ. A cause of death was not immediately known.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Gerber began his modeling career when he signed with IMG Models at 15 and went on to be featured in a number of campaigns, including a 2018 Pepsi advertisement alongside his mother. In 2015, Gerber was photographed by Bruce Webber alongside his sister, Kaia Gerber, for CR Fashion Book. In 2016, he starred in a Calvin Klein campaign and made his runway debut at Moschino’s Los Angeles resort show.

Last month, Kaia opened up about what she referred to as her brother’s “decade-long struggle with drug addiction” in an interview with Vogue. “When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” she said. In 2019, Gerber had been arrested for a DUI in Beverly Hills and was sentenced to three years’ probation and ordered to complete a DUI program after the incident.
Referring to her brother’s openness surrounding his struggles, she said she was deeply proud of him.
“My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything—and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone,’” she said. “There’s only so much you can hide from the world. And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them.”
Gerber is survived by his parents and sister.
