Instagram/@jordanwrightsJordan Wright, 33, appeared on The Only Way Is Essex in 2018A former British reality TV personality was found dead in a drainage ditch in Thailand, a coroner has said.
Jordan Wright, 33, appeared in The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) in 2018 and in Ex on the Beach in 2017.
An inquest in Chelmsford heard how he had been spending time in Thailand, when his body was discovered on 14 March.
Adjourning the inquest until 14 September, senior Essex coroner Lincoln Brookes offered his "deepest condolences" to Wright's family, friends and loved ones.
The inquest heard that the body of Wright, from Stanford-le-Hope, was found in Bang Thao 2 Alley, Choeng Thale sub-district, Thalang district, in the province of Phuket.
His death was confirmed at 12:30 local time, and his body was repatriated to Essex.
A post-mortem examination was carried out on 13 April at Basildon Hospital, but pathologists were waiting for toxicology results and a report from Thailand, the inquest heard.
'Supporting the family'
Following news of Wright's death, fellow TOWIE personality Chloe Brockett posted "rest in peace Jordan" on Instagram, a message also repeated by ex-Love Island contestant Chloe Crowhurst.
In the weeks before his death, Wright had shared videos on Instagram which showed him scuba diving and riding motorbikes in Phuket.
Other reality television personalities shared their tributes to him in the comments section of his latest post.
Liam "Gatsby" Blackwell, also from the Essex-based ITV show, wrote "miss you already brother," while Ex on the Beach's Brandon Myers said: "Lost for words bro. Amazing memories with you mate."
A spokesperson for TOWIE said in a statement: "Everyone at TOWIE sends their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Jordan Wright at this very sad time."
At the time of Wright's death, a Foreign Office spokeswoman said: "We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Thailand and are in contact with the local authorities."
