The Republican Jewish Coalition on Wednesday endorsed Sen. Darline Graham (R-S.C.), pledging its support for the sister of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a longtime ally to Israel.

Coalition national chair Norm Coleman and CEO Matt Brooks said that Graham’s brother “dedicated his life in service to our country and was the best friend of the Jewish people and for the cause of liberty in the US Senate.”

“We trust his beloved sister to carry the fight forward,” Coleman and Brooks continued in their statement.

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R) appointed Graham to succeed her brother following his sudden death at 71 earlier this month. She initially was tasked with serving the remainder of her brother’s term, but on Monday she announced she will run in the Senate primary for a full six-year term to succeed her brother.

“Darline Graham is ‘all in,’ ready to earn every vote and to work each day for the people of South Carolina,” Coleman and Brooks said. “She brings a lifetime of service outside of politics, from her career helping South Carolinians with disabilities to her leadership at the state level, and she will bring that same determination and grit to the U.S. Senate.”

Graham told Fox News’s Sean Hannity that after “praying a lot” and speaking with her family, she made the decision to run and face off against Democrat Annie Andrews.

“I feel like I can do it. I feel an inner peace about it,” Graham told the host. “Will it be difficult? Yes, absolutely.”

President Trump encouraged Graham to run after her appointment. Last week, he called her “a spectacular person, and a true American Patriot.”

“Lindsey was one of the greatest people and Senators I have ever known, and his sister shares his deep love of our Country, and the State of South Carolina,” Trump wrote on Truth Social last Friday.

Former South Carolina GOP chair Katon Dawson, however, said it is not assured that Graham will win the Aug. 11 special primary.

“Endorsements help — I’d rather have it than hurt it,” Dawson told NewsNation’s Blake Burman on Tuesday, later adding, “It’s not a given that she’s going to win because of that endorsement. People are going to look or try to learn where you stand on certain things.”

GOP Reps. Russell Fry and Ralph Norman and businessman Mark Lynch are also running for the seat in the special primary.
