Head coach Danny Rohl wants Rangers to retain the mindset of "hunters" in the three-way battle for the Scottish Premiership title, even his side go top this weekend.

A home win over Dundee United on Saturday will take the Ibrox side to the summit of the table for the first time since March 2024, with leaders Hearts and third-placed Celtic not in action until Sunday, away to Livingston and Dundee respectively.

"We know at the end the importance is after the last match day to be top," Rohl said.

"It is nice to have this now, but even if we would be [top on Saturday], I would still speak from [the position of] we are the hunters. We want to hunt wins. We want to hunt our opponent. And with this mindset, we should go in the next seven games."

Rangers have won four and drawn four from their past eight outings in the Premiership.

"I feel really good because I see my group at the moment," said Rohl, who took over in October when Rangers were 13 points off the pace. "I also see the development.

"There is no doubt my group is strong, convinced, and we have the quality to win the league."

With the top three separated by just five points with seven matches remaining, Rohl says the thrilling climax to the season is generating attention across Europe.

"I expect a really exciting split," said the German. "You never know, it could be after two matchdays you are six points ahead, because the picture is like this. Or you have stolen three points from behind. You never know what happens.

"Maybe there are some turns, maybe not. I think this is exciting for everyone. Especially with three teams, and three teams at the moment are very close to each other. For a neutral supporter, a football fan, this is maybe one of the exciting title races in Europe at the moment.

"As a manager, you look forward, because you know with your group you can win this title. This is also a great feeling. And I'm looking forward to this.

"But you have to do it first two more games. Two more wins, and then you have a good position."

Rangers have yet to beat Dundee United this season, with both previous matches finishing 2-2 after late goals for the Glasgow side.

"We know what we face and it will be a challenge," added Rohl. "They have a small chance to make the top six and both teams want to win and we need a good performance."
