Reality TV star and former Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt said in a recent post that he is working with President Trump on a 25 percent federal film tax.

In a Friday post on the social platform X, Pratt stated the move was to “bring back Hollywood.”

“I’m committed to saving Hollywood, and I’m very grateful for the President’s remarkable generosity and focus on this issue,” Pratt said. “He is very passionate about revitalizing the entertainment industry and we will not let Canada, or the UK or Budapest steal our lunch anymore.”

He attached two pictures of a lunch he had with Trump during the president’s visit to California.

“Unlike many other cynical doomers out there, he refuses to write off California. We are only getting started,” Pratt concluded in his post.

Pratt received Trump’s endorsement while running for Los Angeles mayor but was eliminated in the primaries. Progressive City Council member Nithya Raman narrowly beat him out to compete in a runoff election against incumbent mayor Karen Bass.

After the results were announced, Trump wrote on social media that it is “not possible for Spencer Pratt to have lost the L.A. runoffs after the big lead he had, 3rd World Nation. Rigged Elections!”

This followed claims from other Republicans that commented on California’s lengthy election process.

Polls reported Pratt was solidly in second place when the in-person polls closed on June 2, but then saw his eight-point lead over Raman evaporate as mail-in ballots were counted in the week following the election day.

“I’m not going to defend any of California’s election process. I think it’s crazy that it takes that long to count votes, I really do,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) said about the race but chose to not echo Trump’s claim.
