Sony and Marvel’s web-slinging adventure “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” climbed to $927 million globally, a mind-blowing, jaw-dropping and totally epic opening weekend haul. Few films manage to earn that much by the end of their box office runs, much less after three days on the big screen. It’s the second-largest worldwide debut of all time, trailing only 2019’s Marvel titan “Avengers: Endgame” with $1.2 billion. Those titles reign far above the third-biggest global opening, which belongs to 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War” with $640 million globally.
