(KTLA) – The late-night TV community may have said goodbye to “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” last month, but a big, colorful reminder of the show has found a new home.
Perched atop a restaurant in West Hollywood, Calif., is the illuminated “Late Show” sign — the same one that greeted studio audiences and guests during the show’s 11-season run at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City.
The sign was acquired by Jeff Douek, the owner of WeHo Bistro, after it was auctioned to benefit the World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit providing meals in communities affected by disasters and humanitarian crises, according to the WeHo Times.
In an Instagram post published earlier this week, the restaurant wrote that “the iconic sign that welcomed viewers to so many unforgettable nights has now found a new home right here in the heart of West Hollywood.”
“We’re incredibly honored to welcome this special piece of late-night television history to WeHo Bistro,” the post reads. “Thank you, Stephen Colbert, for the laughter, intelligence, kindness, and magic you’ve shared with all of us over the years.”
In addition to the sign itself, the restaurant has also hung a banner thanking Colbert “for all the magic” he provided.
Monday’s post indicated that the sign will spend about two weeks on the rooftop of WeHo Bistro before being moved to a permanent spot on an interior wall of the restaurant.
Colbert hosted the show from 2015 through May of this year. CBS, in July 2025, announced the cancellation of the franchise, which had been hosted by David Letterman from its inception in 1993 until the comedian took over.
The series finale aired on May 21.
