The White House has launched a website called “The Fraud Ledger” that tracks the fraud crackdowns by Vice President Vance’s task force.
“President Donald J. Trump and Vice President JD Vance are waging war on the fraudsters and scammers who have looted hardworking Americans for far too long,” the website reads.
It allows visitors to track “every action, every takedown, and every dollar recovered as part of the unrelenting effort.”
The site touts that nearly $230 billion in fraud has been uncovered, and $56 billion in fraudulent payments has been stopped.
Vance hosted his first meeting of the White House Task Force on Eliminating Fraud in March.
“President Trump and Vice President Vance are waging an all-out war on fraud, shutting down billions of dollars in taxpayer theft,” White House spokesperson Olivia Wales wrote Thursday on the social platform X. “Democrats have refused to stop this epidemic of fraud.”
“The Trump Administration is holding these criminals accountable and ensuring key federal programs remain viable for the Americans they were meant to support,” she added.
Vance held another meeting of the task force Wednesday with Republican members of Congress present.
“Fraud is really a dual victim crime,” the vice president said during the roundtable.
He noted that the first victim is the American taxpayer, and the second is those who need the programs that are being defrauded.
“This is despicable behavior, and it’s something that we’ve allowed to go on for too long in the United States of America,” Vance said.
He also called on Congress to codify some of the work that the task force has done.
“I see only Republicans surrounding us today,” he said. “We really have been able to work in some cases with Democratic governors and Democratic attorneys general on the anti-fraud task force, and we would love — I’m not necessarily holding my breath — but we would love to work with Democrats in Washington to codify some of the anti-fraud actions that we’ve taken and to take it to the next level.”
