President Trump on Wednesday blasted filmmaker Michael Moore, calling him a “lowlife” and telling him to “get used to more losing” after the “Bowling for Columbine” director praised Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed (D) following his primary victory.

“Michael Moore, the failed political ‘pundit’ who has been losing to me for years, was ranting that, ‘We lost in 2024, and just can’t take it anymore,'” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “No Michael, just get used to more losing! You’ve been a Loser all your life, and nothing’s going to change.”

Trump called El-Sayed Moore’s “new Communist Comrade” and said the progressive “will not be able to save” him.

“He knows you are a failed LOWLIFE, and he wants to pick up where you have left,” Trump said, adding that for “thousands of years, the concept of Communist Policies have never worked.”

“This is the Golden Age of America, and a small group of misfits, like you, Abdul, and others, won’t be able to destroy it, and change the course of History in so doing,” the post concludes. “It’s too big, it’s too powerful, and it’s too good. See you on the Political Battlefield.”

Trump appeared to be responding to a CNN interview with Moore Wednesday night where he described El-Sayed’s victory on Tuesday as the “Midwest’s Mamdani moment,” comparing the progressive candidate to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D). Moore had urged Michigan voters to choose El-Sayed over Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.).

“The Democratic Party, the traditionalists were unable to stop Trump twice … Whoever was on before me talking about how ‘uneducated’ we are in Michigan, and I thought, ‘Well, don’t get upset. I mean, I really only have a high school degree and, you know, only been able to win that one Oscar, that’s not much, you know,'” he quipped.

Moore went on to lambast the Democratic Party, emphasizing how anti-war voters who were young, Arab and Muslim sat out the 2024 presidential election and did not back former Vice President Kamala Harris in response to the Biden administration’s handling of the war in Gaza

El-Sayed’s victory is the latest of several progressive, left-wing Democrats defeating mainstream candidates and incumbents during the party’s primary elections across the country. Part of the divide is the party’s response to Israel’s military offensive in Gaza during the Biden years, as some of the pro-Palestinian demonstrators have gone on to win public office or win primaries, including New York House candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier.

El-Sayed has been an outspoken critic of Israel’s government, saying in an interview with Zeteo in June that the U.S. should treat Israel “the same way we would treat any rogue nation.” But after his victory on Tuesday, he championed a progressive message that contrasted with Stevens.

“Money out of politics. Money in your pocket. Medicare for All. Michigan… We won,” El-Sayed wrote on the social platform X. “I am so proud to be your Democratic nominee for US Senate. Let’s win in November.”
