House Democratic leaders will give remarks Tuesday morning as progressive wins in recent primaries show a growing divide among the caucus — and as their GOP counterparts look for a way out of a floor standoff led by conservative hard-liners.
The press conference also comes after President Trump formally notified Congress that the U.S. resumed strikes against Iran, providing the Pentagon an extra 60 days under the War Powers Act to utilize U.S. forces without congressional approval.
Democrats have pushed back on the administration’s moves in the Middle East, including passing a resolution last month to end the war.
The press conference is scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m. EDT.
