Apple TV “Widow’s Bay” was the most-awarded show at the Emmys this year, winning 14 trophies total.
The Apple TV comedy already had eight wins under its belt at the start of Monday night’s ceremony, having picked up awards including guest comedy actress (Betty Gilpin), comedy casting and music supervision at last week’s Creative Arts Emmys. At the Primetime Emmys, it won every category it was nominated for, adding six to its haul: outstanding comedy series, lead comedy actor (Matthew Rhys), supporting comedy actor (Stephen Root), supporting comedy actress (Kate O’Flynn), comedy writing and comedy directing. This was a record-breaking sweep: “Widow’s Bay” has now won more Emmys in a single year than any comedy series in history.
