©Sony Pictures/Courtesy Everett Collection Director Zach Cregger‘s “Resident Evil” has notched a notable box office milestone, climbing to $400 million in global ticket sales.
His reboot of the ’90s zombie video game has earned $157.399 million in North America and $242.6 million overseas for a worldwide haul of exactly $400 million. It’s now the highest-grossing installment in the 24-year-old horror franchise, toppling 2016’s “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter” with $312 million globally. And it ranks as Cregger’s biggest film to date, ranking above 2022’s low-budget success “Barbarian” with $46 million and 2025’s sleeper hit “Weapons” with a mighty $270 million worldwide.
