Jelly Roll on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' Disney Logo text During Jelly Roll‘s return as guest host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night, the country singer took several opportunities to throw jabs at President Donald Trump.
During his opening monologue, the country singer-rapper started with the “main event of America this weekend” — the IndyCar race in Washington, D.C., dubbed the Freedom 250 Grand Prix.
“The cars drove through the streets of D.C., and there’s Donald Trump, who apparently has never held a flag before,” he said, as a video played of the president waving a green flag. “What a shit job. How do you fuck up waving a flag?”

As the audience broke out in laughter, Jelly Roll continued, “But the president seemed to enjoy the IndyCar race, which was a real switch up for him, because normally he only likes his own race.”
“Trump also drove around the track in his motorcade doing what they call the lap of honor, which sounds like a loyalty program at a strip club,” the singer quipped. “Five percent cash back in the champagne room for all Lap of Honor members. Sadly, those are the only laps Trump’s been doing lately.”
Jelly Roll’s “laps” joke was only the beginning of several more digs directed at Trump’s physical fitness during the monologue.
“According to the Washington Post, a lot of doctors are worried about the president’s weight. After his last physical, we found out Trump gained 14 pounds, which means he’s now tipping the scales at almost 240. It’s crazy. Think about this, y’all. In the last few years, I’ve lost 300 pounds. That means I’ve lost an entire Donald Trump,” the “Save Me” artist said, prompting laughter from the studio crowd.
He added, “And let’s be honest, based on his approval ratings, it seems like most of the country wants to do the same thing.”
Jelly Roll told the audience they should “take it easy” on Trump because “we shouldn’t be making fun of the president for his weight because we know that he would never do that to other people.” That’s when a video montage started to play of the president talking about people’s weight and appearance on many different occasions, calling others a “big fat slob,” “fat pig” and “fatter than ever,” among other terms.
“Well, if that ain’t the pot calling the kettle fat,” the singer said. “Well, Mr. President, from one fat pig to another, take it from me that physical fitness is very important. And trust me, you’ll be happy to see your penis again.”
Jelly Roll first guest hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! in July 2025 before returning this week while regular host Jimmy Kimmel is on his summer hiatus.
The country star has been open about maintaining an apolitical public stance. Despite being criticized for avoiding politics, Jelly Roll told reporters backstage at the 2026 Grammys that “people shouldn’t care” about his political opinions because “I’m a dumb redneck.”
