The actress discussed being back as Katniss Everdeen in the upcoming Sunrise on the Reaping, which opens next month. Lawrence also confirmed she reunited with her former Hunger Games co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harrelson, whose participation has also long been speculated.
Lawrence was asked by Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper about returning to the franchise, and the actress replied, “Unbelievable. It was so crazy because it was the same crew. It was the same camera guys, the same AD, who I’ve worked with a million times … and Josh and Woody and it was so emotional. Like Josh and I like didn’t walk to the bathroom without our arms around each other. It was so beautiful.”

She also added that Harrelson climbed through her hotel window.
“And Woody obviously came through the window of my hotel room uninvited cause it would not be the same. It wouldn’t be the same if he listened to boundaries and used a door.”
The actress also revealed that she gave herself a pixie cut back in 2013 to protest The Hunger Games producers initially refusing to give her a wig for Mockingjay after the actress had grown frustrated with having to dye her hair brown.
“I was in The Hunger Games and I really wanted to use a wig cuz I was tired of dying my hair brown and they were refusing to give me a wig,” she said. “And so I had my first tiny little protest of giving myself the worst haircut anyone has ever seen in their life — which was the pixie, famously.”
In Sunrise on the Reaping is a prequel set 24 years before the original film, following 16-year-old Haymitch Abernathy as he competes in the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell, in which twice as many tributes are forced to fight to the death. Joseph Zada plays young Haymitch and Ralph Fiennes is President Snow. The legacy characters are expected to appear in flashforwards or a framing device. The film opens Nov. 20.
