John Legend performing in October 2026. Frazer Harrison/Getty Images With Halloween in the rearview mirror, John Legend and Snoopy are officially ready to kick off the holiday season. Legend has a new song, “Get Ready,” which you can now hear in a clip from the upcoming Peanuts special, 12 Days of Snoopy, premiering today on Rolling Stone.
In some ways the snappy piano-led tune harkens back to the iconic music Vince Guaraldi composed for various Peanuts specials in the Seventies. But Legned and producer Raphael Saadiq add to that a brassy soulful flare as Legend sings about Santa Claus preparing for the Christmas season, and everyone doing their best to be on his “good list.”
“When the score is tallied, the record’s read, the ledger calls you name,” Legend sings, “Will you be merry or instead/Just hang your head in shame?/Not much time to get in line/There’s some catching up to do/Santa Claus is getting ready/And I hope you’re ready, too.”
