Mayors and other local politicians could be given powers to oversee water companies under plans being considered by the UK government to bring utilities under greater public control, Lauren Almeida reports.
The plans were first revealed in a Telegraph splash by Tony Diver. He says they will be part of the 10-year plan being announced by Andy Burnham later this year.
