Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson is on track to secure the Democratic nod to replace term-limited Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D), while three Republicans jockey for the GOP nomination.

Benson is expected to easily advance from a Tuesday primary where she faces one challenger. On the other side of the aisle, Republican Rep. John James secured President Trump’s endorsement in the contest against businessman Perry Johnson. Former Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox will also appear on the GOP ballot despite suspending his campaign and endorsing James.
