It’s been 30 years since Wes Craven’s slasher flick Scream hit theaters, introducing audiences to the masked killer “Ghostface” and a cast of small-town characters who are still part of the horror canon today.
Now, fans of the original 1996 hit can pick up a 30th anniversary edition of Scream that features a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray version of the film on two discs, plus some killer collectibles.

Buy Now On AmazonThe physical release includes the original feature film, plus hours of behind-the-scenes content, from cast and crew commentary, to featurettes from the production set. Your purchase also includes a digital code that you can redeem for a downloadable version of Scream that you can watch and stream online.
But what you’re really buying this Scream box set for is the slew of limited-edition merch, like a blood-splattered cordless phone, inspired by the one Drew Barrymore uses in the film’s now-iconic opening scene. While the replica phone doesn’t work for making calls, it does come with pre-recorded dialogue from the movie if you pick up after it rings. The box set, meantime, also includes Polaroid-style photos of the suspects in the movie, plus newspaper clippings and a case file.
This Scream box set is an Amazon exclusive and available to pre-order now. It’s sure to sell quickly so we recommend adding to cart while it’s still in stock, to lock in your copy (the physical release is already topping Amazon’s bestsellers charts, weeks before its release date). It makes a great gift for movie buffs too.
Scream was hit with audiences and critics alike when it was released in December 1996, with Craven (and writer Kevin Willamson) praised for reviving the tired slasher-horror genre with a dose of fun — and a knowing wink to the films that came before it. As Rolling Stone’s David Fear recounted in his review of 2022’s Scream remake, it was a “hell of a tightrope act that screenwriter Williamson and director Craven nimbly tiptoed, balancing in-jokes for a generation raised on VCR horror binges while still delivering thrills, chills and adrenaline rushes.”
In addition to Barrymore, the original Scream film starred David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGowan and Skeet Ulrich, many of whom have returned for other installments in the franchise, which now includes six sequels as well as a short-lived television series.
