According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Marian Mohamed-directed film will trace the Las Vegas trial in which the jury found Davis guilty on Aug. 30, convicting him of first-degree murder in the nearly 30-year-old killing of the hip-hop legend. The true crime doc, which will feature interviews with members of the Shakur family, is expected to come out on Sky Documentaries and streaming platform NOW in 2027.
The late rapper’s brother and collaborator Mopreme Shakur is one of the film’s participants, along with other individuals who were close to Tupac. It’s also expected to feature previously unseen footage and stills provided by Shakur’s family and confidantes. The film will open with the first day of evidence and chronicles the trial on through the verdict and sentencing of Davis, which is scheduled for Oct. 13.
