The momentum from Survivor‘s landmark 50th season is not going anywhere as its 51st marks the start of an entirely new format for the show. Season 51 — and the franchise’s “Open Era” (more on that below) — kicks off with a special two-hour premiere on Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. PT/ET on CBS, available to stream live via DirecTV (with a five-day free trial), Fubo (with a five-day free trial) or Hulu + Live TV.

Alternatively, the Premier package, DirecTV’s top-tier Signature package, includes Paramount+ Premium at no extra cost as part of its premium channel lineup. The 51st season of Survivor premieres with a special two-hour episode on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. PT/ET on CBS. New 90-minute episodes will air every Wednesday at the same time.

What is Survivor “Open Era?”
