Adam Scott revealed that he once tried to sneak his way back into the Hellraiser franchise, despite previously getting killed off.

The Severance star made a recent appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, where he shared that he auditioned for 2002’s Hellraiser: Hellseeker, even though his character Jacques — a servant who helps his aristocrat boss summon a demon — died in 1996’s Hellraiser: Bloodline.

“My agent sends an audition for Hellraiser 6, and I’m like, ‘Wait a second… I was in Hellraiser 4,” he recalled. “But I need a job. So I’m like, ‘Screw it.’ And I go to the audition just thinking, ‘Maybe they won’t notice that I was in Hellraiser 4.'”

Scott said he even tried to avoid making eye contact with one of the Bloodline producers, whom he recognized at his audition.

“I remember being in the waiting room, kind of looking around and seeing a door ajar to someone’s office and seeing a producer from Hellraiser 4 in the office. And just like holding my papers up, just like, ‘OK, if he doesn’t see me, and they think I do a good job, maybe I’ll get in Hellraiser 6 as well,'” the Hokum actor explained.

Unfortunately for Scott, he didn’t book the job in the end.

While reflecting on his experience in the popular horror franchise with his role in Bloodline, Scott was still appreciative of the opportunity early in his acting career.

He told host Seth Meyers, “I didn’t know about Hellraiser, but I was like, ‘Oh, this is an acting job?’ And so I was so excited.”

The Hellraiser franchise, based on Clive Barker’s 1986 novella The Hellbound Heart, includes 11 movies, with the most recent being released in 2022.
