The second Hill Nation Summit on Wednesday in Washington convenes a bipartisan gathering of lawmakers and administration officials to dive into conversation with journalists from The Hill and NewsNation.

With less than four months until the midterm elections, what are candidates saying about affordability, artificial intelligence and healthcare reform? Where do lawmakers and party officials sit on key strategies for Democrats and Republicans to win over voters?

The full day of panelists includes Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, Education Secretary Linda McMahon, CMS Administrator Mehmet Oz, FCC Chair Brendan Carr, House Democratic Caucus vice chair Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.), Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.), National Republican Congressional Committee Chair Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.) and far more.

The Summit will address several themes throughout the day. Find a schedule here.

Panelists will tackle Tax Reform 2.0, as the expiration of significant tax provisions set for 2026 will force Congress to negotiate the entire U.S. tax code. On the healthcare front, the sunsetting of enhanced premium tax credits (ACA subsidies) created massive uncertainty in the health insurance markets and fuels the affordability debate.

As AI technology matures and its economic impact becomes more visible, the focus is shifting to practical governance and its effect on jobs and global competition. With AI comes scrutiny on energy resources. The need to balance climate goals with sustained energy independence requires a fundamental overhaul of the bureaucratic process for infrastructure and energy projects.

The summit will also mark the formal launch of Decision Desk HQ’s (DDHQ) election forecast model of the November midterms, when control of the House and Senate will be up for grabs.

Hill Nation Summit is presented by PhRMA and Tokyo Electron U.S.

Follow along live. The first conversation starts at 8:45 a.m. EDT.
